Frequently asked questions.
What camera and lens are you using for wildlife photos?
At the moment, I am shooting with a Nikon D500 and using my Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM. I get pretty good photos from this setup but my lens likes a lot of light to keep the photos sharp. I am looking at getting the Nikon 200-500mm in the near future and would definitely like to add a prime lens eventually.
How do you get such unique photos of wildlife?
I would like to think it is because I am an expert photographer but really it boils down to a couple things, putting in the time and a bit of luck. You have to put in the time to learn the routines and habitat of wildlife, then get out and hang where they hang. Luck also plays a roll as “being in the right place at the right time” is the answer for many of my photos.
Do you really camp in the winter?
Yes I do and really enjoy it! I will be sharing a post soon on this so stay tuned!
